Goodbye WordPress, hello Docusaurus

· 2 min read

I decided to move from WordPress to Docusaurus to host my blog.

WordPress has long been a staple for bloggers, offering a range of dynamic content capabilities, thanks to PHP. It's been the go-to for many because of its ease of use and flexibility. However, recently I found that WP is slow and sluggish while consuming a considerable amount of my server's resources.

Winding down the "New game" announcement blog

Man with megaphone

Hello. Just a quick update on the "New game" category of my blog.

I've decided to stop writing blog posts every time I add new games to my site, because I find it tedious. Instead, I've written the code that automatically updates the date whenever I upload a new game (you can see it at the "Last updated" part right under the page name), which I think is much more convenient. In addition, there is a new tab called "New & Updated" too, so you can see which new games are added.

Anyways, thanks for reading the new game announcement on my blog over the time! I really appreciate it.

Java 2 ME game list

Before smartphones are the norm as of today, there was once a period where cellphones were popular. A lot of games were developed for those phones too, mainly from Nokia and Gameloft. Those games were written in Java, but for mobile formats, hence the name "ME" (Micro Edition).

Three games updated: Angry Birds Chrome, Cut the Rope: Magic and Temple Run 2

Breaking news: Angry Birds Chrome has been updated to fix the sound issue! Previously, the game was playable but there was no sound. Now you can hear the music and the birds' sound! (Please note that you need to click on the game to enable the sound. In case you forget, toggle the audio button in-game on/off will resolve the issue.)

In addition, Cut the Rope: Magic has been updated to use high quality assets (images and audio files), so you can enjoy the game better.

Also, new theme comes to Temple Run 2: Frozen Festival! In the Frozen Festival map, you will be greeted with a deep and snowy winter full of celebratory holiday ornaments and a brand new character to control. It is quite similar to the Arctic theme, but for holiday season (well... should be added in winter not summer LOL!).

Website revamped

info

The content below may be outdated and does not reflect the current state of the website. It is included here as-is for archival purposes.

The theme is still there, but I decided to revamp it a little bit.

The most obvious changes are the navigation bar at the top, in which I added a toggle button to change to light/dark mode to suit your preference (in addition to the auto mode) instead of sticking to the default auto mode like before. The second change is the overall look of my website.
